I started as a Lecturer at Sussex in September 2013 after completing my PhD and MSc here within the Department of Informatics. My PhD research explored computer game creation as a writing development activity for young people aged 11-15, and involved the participatory design of software tools to support multimodal and interactive narrative creation.
Past projects I have worked on at Sussex include: •InQbate, a technology rich space designed to support creativity in teaching and learning •The Flip project, which involved the design and evaluation of a visual programming language for young people •The Terence project, which explored the potential for story-based games to support poor comprehenders
Prior to Sussex I worked at further education college, and obtained a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from the University of Warwick.
